SIS is starting a project for cancer patients! We are knitting, or crocheting, chemo caps, ear warmers, and heart-shaped pillows for the Cancer Center. If you would like to help, there are patterns and materials available in the Ladies’ classroom and the SIS room. If you don’t sew and would like to help, there will be pillows to be stuffed, etc . Work can be done at home if you are unable to attend the 1st Thursday meetings. For questions, contact Patsy Gooch or Cathy Shelton.
If you’d like to send a card of encouragement to the individuals in Oxford, Mississippi—whom some of our members had the opportunity to assist after the ice storm—their addresses are available on the foyer tables at each entrance.
Looking for a midweek boost? Join us for a Bible class every Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM in Room 49. This class is led by our Shepherds and is a great opportunity for study, discussion, and encouragement.

S.I.S
S.I.S. (Sisters in Service) S.I.S. meets on the 1st Thursday of each month from 1:30 - 3:00 PM. They make handmade items to share with church members who would like to take a small gift when visiting the sick (home or hospital, residents of nursing homes, assisted living, and those being admitted for rehab). If you would like to take some of these items with you on a visit, please post your request on the sewing sisters work room door. Please state the name of the person being visited and location of visit (some items are specifically made to meet the needs of patients in hospital, rehab, etc.). Make sure to include your name. Requests are processed on Sunday and Wednesday. You may also contact Patsy Gooch, Melanie Allen, or Cathy Shelton.
SIS has also provided Quiet Bags for children up to age 7 and/or for those with special needs. These are located on the hangers, on the wall, between the nursery and the nursing mothers room. Parents, please remember to put the bags back on the hanger under the sign by the end of service Sunday night. We continue to ask for your suggestions to improve this program. If you can help with sanitizing and refreshing the bags, please sign up on the sheet on the door to the SIS room, or the ladies classroom. If you need further information, please see Patsy Gooch. Thank you!
